I’ve enjoyed doing this blogging thing very much during the past year, trying to showcase some of what best SL has to offer that I could come by; and that in many areas of interest, not just fashion. Featuring creations by some of you super talented guys because I thought they were well-made, sometimes, but just sometimes, regardless of my own personal taste or preferences, even. I saw it more as a service to others, than a place for self-expression, as I don’t care much for recognition. Another motivation was my growing exasperation from the general perception among outsiders that SL is a tacky, ugly place, mostly thanks to the many tasteless pictures representing SL on the internet.
Well, this has all been quite an ambitious (as well as spendy) task for a single person to set out on, and I think I may have outgrown the experience now. I can’t say that I feel much drive to stay on top of things by the clock anymore, and rather than let this blog languish, and feel bad about all the cool new stuff that I can’t be arsed covering, I will just put the whole thing on hiatus, most likely indefinitely.
Plus, quitting will give me more time when I’m in-world to focus on the creative aspect of SL that I recently tackled, with my little shop as my new pet project. But I’m straying. The archives will stay on a while, and I will probably let the syndication run too (perhaps set up a separate domain for it if some of you would like that).
From start to finish, “Brinksie” has been a 100% positive experience. I’ve only heard good feedback, have never had any nasty business, and every person that took the time to let me know they enjoyed the blog was really nice, and cool ! and, I’m sure, super awesome too. ❤

It feels bad to take away something I tried really hard to make good, but I’m reminding myself that besides the fact that blogging was taking a lot of time, there is also the underlying need for me to finally be reasonable and cut my losses. In my desire to blog everything good, I have been buying a lot more stuff than I would normally have, had I not had the blog, and so without the support of ads, or of a miraculous shower of gifts and review copies raining down on me continually (which by the way, is a complete and utter myth, generally speaking), that meant I have basically been paying to blog. Upside is, that one-year long shopping spree will have cured me of my shopping habit, surely. ;)
I will miss your blog so much!! It’s very obvious you put so much of yourself into it – every post was always exceptional! I’ve already checked out your shop and it’s great! Your creativity just moving in a different direction.. awesome! Thank you for all you’ve done and good luck to you! :D
I gave up with the buying thing too, I felt refreshed and my sl time began to fall away. Smug little bastard that i am I laughed a little to see others shopping like crazy, just like i used to.
Not so smug though, in the end… My sl habit was taken over by ebay , and i think i forgot i wasnt spending lindens.Just numbers aren’t they? There on the screen…..10 lindens… 400 lindens… I just plain forgot ‘£’ doesn’t mean linden dollars…….
