I love this pleated skirt from the new shop Tokidoki. Notice it’s not made of prims ! It’s sculpts. The skirt is part of a dress, so it has a baked-on shadow from the top that goes with it (not worn here). An alternative version of it without that shadow would be nice so the skirt can be worn more easily with other things. Tokidoki’s a small shop yet, run by four months old avatar Maya Levane, but it has already a collection of well made articles, including this cute owl handbag.
A little preview of what’s to come at the fourth session of Designers United, which will kick off on September 4th, with Narcissus as the theme. The skins from Très Blah are gorgeous, and I’m featuring here also hats from tram and Picnic, earrings from Whippet & Buck, an awesome dress from &bean and part of the rope outfit from RunoRuno. For more sneak peeks, check out on The Young Urban. Olivia Connaught has beautifully photographed some of the many dresses that have been made exclusively for the event along with Hallie Galli.

Had to jump on this little dress from Tee*Fy, plus it’s only 75L , and oh, I think these boots are my new crush ! I regret the lack of demos at Hoorenbeek, but I don’t regret buying those. They’re gorgeous and a new wardrobe staple to be sure. ❤

Maitreya has a 50% sale going on until the 22nd ! Also, Royal Blue is reopening with a new collection that will be released in bits over the next few weeks, starting today.

These platform pumps newly released by Gos at Shoe Fair are, as is to be expected from this brand, thoroughly scripted to let you customise every part of the shoe, giving you a choice of two colours (black and red) and several metals for the buckles. I also like that instead of having a separate pair with built-in invisiprim, you only get one pair of shoes where the invisiprims can be turned off from the on-touch menu (it’s in the extras). All around well-thought out, and superbly sculpted shoes !

Shoe Fair 2010 is upon us ! It starts tomorrow, the 7th, at noon SLT, with many, many designers of note, counting: Drakke, Lassitude & Ennui, Shoe Fly, Swansong, Anexx, Aoharu, Ingenue, Felicity, Courtisane, Coquette Noir, Lazy Places, Bax Coen, Reel Expression, S@BBiA, Pixel Mode, Sakka’s Studio, Decoy, 24 Shoo-Shoes, Nova, Zaara, Image Reflections, Cherry by House of London, Mentine, Reek, J’s, Kookie, Mayden Couture. There are 4 sims in all, at random, here‘s a slurl to one of them. Watch out, it’ll be packed. And here are a few sneak peeks of some new releases available at the fair.
Yesterday Vintage McMillan put on the most fabulous and engaging fashion show performance I have seen on SL. The collection was presented in numerous parts, each set to music — Lady Gaga all the way, of course — along with minutely choreographed dancing and stage installations. Beyond the fashion, I was most impressed with the all the fun, but also the hard work and coordination that went into the performance as I watched it unfurl flawlessly, for a solid straight two hours, mind !
The closest thing to a real life concert show made in SL, I enjoyed every minute of it, and so here are 6 and a half of them I threw together in a machinima. I think there was something sweetly eccentric about putting all this together for an audience of about 10 people, as I only started filming on the spur of the moment and there had been no prior plans to record this at all. But, here goes ! And, watch out for the upcoming Epoque collection to be released sometime next week.
