Blackboards, tables set, floor mirror and rug from [North West] by Lili Brink.

Numero uno… let’s start with me shall, we ? Since I made these, I have a few things to add in some accompanying text to the images for a change, other than ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’. So here we have some decorative blackboards, with their three panels inscribed with lines from a poem by Paul Valéry, “Fragments du Narcisse”. A translation of the lines I quoted is included in the box. Next I made these tables thinking the criss-crossing lines jutting from the legs gave them an organic feel well in keeping with the theme; one of them has also a drawing of flowers I scribbled baked on the top. The floor mirror, with its simple wooden frame and a puddle of water leaking from the bottom, came to me while looking at paintings depicting Narcissus and the pose is inspired from the one by Waterhouse. You might have gotten a glimpse of it here already when I used it in my fashion post of the 28th. Last I added the texture-change rug with its flowery pattern as a sort of “natural” backdrop for the ensemble, green on brown, but there are also 3 other colour schemes included.

The pictures were taken using Stein Shilova’s skybox as a setting, which is sold exclusively at Trilogy, and has amazingly good textures scripted into it.

And here we have a prefab from Tee*fy, by Azure Electricteeth (copyable, 115 prims). It has very cute flower-shaped lights. Love their shadows, and the openness of the prefab layout !

These bench, table and wall lights are from Y’s House, by yacchan Clip, and will easily complement any of their existing prefabs.

There is also a house from Surf co. by Emma Gilmour, see pics here ! I also just saw today we both had the same idea about a mirror on the floor with a contemplating pose except the one she made is, no questions asked, way better with the details and textures and sculpts.

On another note, Brinksie was picked out this year as best blog by the readers of veteran blog and magazine Second Style. Thank you !!! It is very gratifying to know that my continued efforts to showcase some of the best content in Second Life is not going wholly unnoticed  – if not for the comments I get from time to time, I’d think nobody’s reading this thing — so, this acknowledgement goes a long way to let me know of your appreciation. And thank you to the people at Second Style, too !

It’s a set containing a rug, table, chair, candle and a globe painted over to just leave out the word ‘LOVE’.

The rug is scripted and changes to six variations of stripes and colours. It’ll come copyable for FLF, although it’ll normally be sold no-copy.

And I set up shelves on the wall to the right of the entrance of the store with some cheap stuff you should check out ! I will keep adding more to it, though I don’t promise to do it fast.

Oh, and don’t forget to click on the update kiosk sign to join, it’s on the wall to the left. I sometimes send random free shit. Okay, I only did it once so far, but I can totally do it again ! Other than that, I’ll be so self-conscious about spamming you, you’ll probably only get an update notecard from me once every two months, anyways. ❤

The thing I love most to do when settling in a new home is choosing which lights to use and placing them around, hence why I like making candles and lamps so much. These, like the chairs shown above I recently made, are pretty kitsch and vintage (I hope) and with their combinations of colours and patterns are perhaps not for everyone, but I hope a few people will like them !
