OMGWTF Barbecue set up a fundraiser overnight, the Haiti Earthquake Relief event, where all of the proceeds from the sales will be sent to the Red Cross after it ends. These are some of the great items you will be able to find there.

An ever-expanding directory of quality content in Second Life, for the Tasteful Shopper. We cover fashion, places to explore, avatars, furniture & prefabs, and other neat things to have or see, pretty much since the day before yesterday. All on the fly!

Sloane Irelund has recently opened the cutest shop, Vena Cava at ALBERO. Check out her adorable items here ! I love these well-crafted textures, as you can see, they were put together with care and attention.

Vivé9‘s new release, Marianne, is very versatile, coming in three tones (here is pale), with eight make-ups in different syles (ranging from very bare and natural, to pinup and slightly funky), and you can choose to wear light or dark eyebrows, teeth or no teeth, and freckles or no freckles. I found it allowed for an incredible number of different looks, to suit your personal taste, mood or whim of the day (which in my case changes all the time). Also, I’m loving Marianne’s soft, thick eyebrows. They give the face just the right amount of what I’d call “character”, without being a distraction or bringing too much attention on them. ❤

A year or two ago, I picked up a whole bunch of free clocks at Chronokit that I kept stacked somewhere in the deep recesses of my inventory and forgot about. Always had in the back of my mind to check out the store’s contents more in depth at some point, though, something which, oh my god, I finally did a few weeks back. I guess it was worth not rushing it because Kit Pizzicato has since made these amazing pieces of furniture, some of which you can see here. Read more…

There’s some fun stuff I finally tracked down at Cache-cache. The backyard BBQ set below is actually an attachment. I love these easy ways to create “WTF” moments on the spot, since you can wear this anytime, anywhere. And it’s only 180L ! The cameras below below came from a gatcha-gatcha dispenser. Comes in many variations, for 20L. The one I’m holding in my hand operates as a typing overrider.

Natu Ellils makes some of the best steampunk articles I’ve seen on the grid. What a discovery ! Some of the watches at DCCXXIII had me wish that I had them in real life. I also loved that you can demo everything, and they also have lots of gifts lying around as well as two lucky boards. The suitcase below is last month’s group gift, but you can still get it now.

Some cute shabby things at Second Spaces, by Elle Kirshner. Had to pick just one or two but I also liked the trolley with the rolls of fabric in it, the sewing table and the desks.

Not sure if this console was for sale at fri.day before, but it was too cute to resist.

There’s lots of varied, sculpted things at Daniel Luchador’s store and this table is part of a release from a few weeks ago. It comes in several colours and can be used with or without the cloth that has different prints too. There’s been lots of newness at Root beer these past months and it’s definitely worth checking out.

These mugs from Magic Nook have been on many blogs, and it’s easy to see why, they’re cute but nearly not as much as the drinks they contain, and they cost only 25L apiece !

Today’s freebie at Redd Columbia’s Festival of sleep. I have long deemed Cluster to be the most awesome store on SL, because of all the fun stuff (and a post dedicated to it has long been overdue, but well…), but anyways, it delighted me also when I saw what Day 3 had to offer (a blanket to crawl under, where you read a book with a flashlight when you can’t sleep).

Love this recently released couch from Y’s house.

I had been itching to feature skins from Detour almost since I started this blog; sadly, no new skins had been released there since I last bought Luca and Kirsten in early 2008, and those felt a little outdated by now. So I patiently waited and hoped for something more up to date to come out someday. Well, last week-end I happened to go and found that all old lines had been retired and in their place was now “Bijou”, which I immediately had a crush on ! There was also another line but I didn’t look at it too closely. This one comes in many tones, like 8 or 9 if I remember, and has about 6 different sets of 4 make-ups each. I hope I’ll be able to enjoy it a while and not jump onto another skin too soon ! I love how it’s fresh, but not too young or too clean, just twenty-something-I-found-my-style hip, and also is just the right amount of realism and hand-drawn goodiness mixed together, not to mention that the basic pack (at 3000L) offers natural looks as well as the usual funky “Detour” make-ups, and it makes me feel as though I should be able to go a long way with that without having to drop big bucks in a spendy fat pack.

Oooh, Gogo just blogged these amazing Doc Martens from a store I don’t think I’d heard of before, Gos, and I had to hop over ! In addition to shoes, they also make glasses, watches and some furniture. Gospel Voom who made most of these I’m showing is part of a team of developers and this store is like their side project. It’s worth going just to check out the amazing lighting on their sculpts. I even loved the box that the furniture came in !
