Our Eyes They’re Bright

Now five shots of the same thing, that’s really a vanity post, I suppose, but various elements in this outfit really pleased me and it seemed to just about look good in every angle. Yep ! Also, Lamb hairstyles like this, close around the face, usually don’t fit my wide face, but surprisingly this one did, and I’m glad I went to try it out for it completed nicely the look I guess I was going for. And it’s really, really quite lovely.

Chip on my shoulder

I have not worn Dutch Touch skins in a while, because though I find them a really unique and extraordinary blend of hand-drawn and realism, the faces often tend to be too perfect, and also a little too mature for me. But not so with the newly released Mensje and Megan faces ! They are youthful, softer and have some elements of quirkiness about them that makes each face stand out.

Seasons Hunt: Winter

Tomorrow, on the 15th, begins the winter edition of the Seasons Hunt, with many of my favourite creators on SL. Here are some of the items that will be available as gifts up until January 29th, including one from me (there are 4 or 5 other Home & Décor stores in the hunt not featured here yet, and I might add more pictures later here).

Basket: Magic Nook. Boots: Fir & Mna. Table: North West.

Lamp: Sea Salt. Rice sacks on crate: Kari.

Inaka

I’m just back from visiting this work in progress at Inaka by dai Lageos, a very minute, realistic rendition of a Japanese town. It aims for authenticity, and you can see it, down to every detail painstakingly added over time, such as the sink and accordion bathroom mirror screwed to the basement wall of the cool, dark little café which you will only find if you meander through the sometimes really tiny alleys, so tiny that at first sight you may wonder if they’re even meant to allow passage for humans. It’s not a sim-wide construction, but I wish it was, so you could walk around and keep discovering things for days. Though this is great to sight-see already, and perhaps there would not be the same attention for detail, or even just time for it, if it were built on a larger scale.

Ko-Ko

I had been looking for quite a while for a replacement to the once popular, but now outdated, turtlenecks from SHOP SEU, and I think ARAI just came out with them ! Just three basic colours: beige, grey and black. Simple and casually chic, I like that they can be worn without some of the attachments and it’ll still look right.

Nowhere fast

Maitreya is coming on strong today with two releases: the Shearling boots and the Scrunched socks. I’d never bought sculpted feet to be worn alone before because I couldn’t really see much of a practical use for them in my SLife, other than maybe for photos, and for me that wasn’t enough of a selling point either. But these, well, they’re stockinged feet actually, I wanted to have right away !

And I love that you only need to buy, wear and adjust the one pair; it’s scripted to change position and shape so that you can be standing on tip toe with them, or with your feet flat, or hide the feet altogether to use only the upper part with shoes and boots. They’re also scripted to change colours ! There are three different colour packs, containing 10 colours each for $L450, which is really a nice price.

Knives Out

I’ve had many bits & bobs accumulating for months now because I’ve not really felt like doing a big décor post lately. But, enough ! I’ll at least air some of it out now, throw it together in a jumble even for just a snap or two, because I wanted to show this really, really pretty gift just out at Kari, for Christmas. Oh, and I apologise in advance for anymore gifts that may no longer be available…

Be-Bop-A-Lula

I’ve been looking forward to the opening of Lamb Bellic and Julliette Westerburg’s sim Lula for a long time (or Belmar as it was called then), ever since hearing that Turnip Sorbet was building a French village for them. It has been long in the making and so well worth the wait. I was excited for it, and the result goes way beyond my expectations ! So much attention to detail, down to the custom made fields, stone walls, shutters, etc…
