I went blonde again for two of the latest hairstyles released at LeLutka, Addison and Rain. The textures on these are great, with the roots especially. I might have preferred to get my usual brown packs but I don’t think you could see a colour variation as much on there. I might still get the browns for later; I love the airy flow on the sculpt work. And then I also went back to a sweet look with Dutch Touch‘s Mensje.

New stuff coming at Kari ! Long, long promised, it’s all cute, fun and really well done. Starting with the specs which are colour-change and which I loved, though perhaps I did regret a little the absence of brown as one of the colour options. But they’re definitely going to be my new favourite geeky glasses. Next up is the wristwatch, of which I didn’t take a close enough picture, but it looks really good up close. Among my other instant favourites were the newstand and the robots. One of them speaks French and I had to laugh when I first heard its love declarations. I have not worn Dutch Touch skins in a while, because though I find them a really unique and extraordinary blend of hand-drawn and realism, the faces often tend to be too perfect, and also a little too mature for me. But not so with the newly released Mensje and Megan faces ! They are youthful, softer and have some elements of quirkiness about them that makes each face stand out.

The lovely, cute Mensje comes in these skin tones: Pale, Rose, Peach, Caramel, Honey, and Fudge. I loved the Rose tone for a little redhead look. There isn’t a make-up line; this face is available as a “StarterPack” with a basic face and various options of eyebrows, freckles, moles and hairbases combined together. There are a couple of tattoo layers included, also, with kohl, moles and lashes. In addition, you can buy a whole pack of 12 different lipstick shades separately for 500L; there’s also eye make-up packs (five per set) which I might wish could be bought either in units or as a pack. But all in all, I love how the packs are worked out, as well as the pricing on the optional lipsticks. Also, if you’re in the VIP group, you can get the StarterPack in the cream tone for 400L only, and this is probably limited in time.

Megan is more of a brunette and comes only in Cream, Caramel, Fudge and Olive; it is sold as StarterPacks as well, and slightly cheaper than Mensje. It was my favourite at first with its slightly exotic accents, though I’m pretty torn between both faces now I’ve worn them a little. I do like the lips on both skins, and the moles, and I prefer Megan’s eyebrows but Mensje’s sweetness may have finally won me over.

I’ve been looking forward to the opening of Lamb Bellic and Julliette Westerburg’s sim Lula for a long time (or Belmar as it was called then), ever since hearing that Turnip Sorbet was building a French village for them. It has been long in the making and so well worth the wait. I was excited for it, and the result goes way beyond my expectations ! So much attention to detail, down to the custom made fields, stone walls, shutters, etc…

I had been regretting the lack of a pretty sim lately where to just hang out and socialise as some of us oldbies used to in Tableau a couple of years ago, and I think this could become it ! Besides being a shopping location where to find some of the best shops in SL, this build is a great, and welcome, contribution to the community. We always need more pretty things, here ! To, you know, make up for everything else.

Also, tomorrow, well, today, actually really tomorrow but today technically for me, the much awaited “Mon Tissu” new clothing store will open there !

These afros from DUBOO come in 7 different versions, each one more cute than the others, and this was my favourite. Also, they are for Project Themeory, so unless I’m wrong, they cost 75L only ! They should be out next Saturday, and the theme will be, I believe, DISCO !

I guess this week-end was another one of those blogging marathons such as I’m prone to have maybe once a month… So, I spent a portion of the evening doing Anya Ohmai’s Red Packet Hunt and it was very much worth it ! I didn’t do everything but I made sure not to miss any of the stores I like, and even bought Mother Goose’s Magoo skin in several make-ups before finding the gift one, which turned out to suit the dress even more. I am very much decked out in pinks and reds, but it doesn’t have anything (or much) to do with Valentine’s Day, it’s for the Chinese New Year !

Ishi I didn’t know and I think it has pretty awesome stuff and there are going to be so many more good things to come from it in the future, I’m sure. I got pretty enthusiastic today about their cottage. There was no demo, but the owner, Butterfli Summers, was kind enough to rezz a copy so I could look. It is pretty primmy but really detailed, and if you don’t have to count your prims, you might very well fall in love with it. It is so cute and charming. There are recesses perfect to place a little bed or a rug or cushions on and dream inside, while looking out the window… Butterfli also has the best pricing system as well. Her prefabs (she has two so far) cost about 1L per prim ! So this cottage is only 850L for, that’s right, 837 prims. But that means she has another build, a skybox, really cheap for sale next to it too !

Trash Wahwah, from the blog “Blah to wah“, has put out some really cute things of his own for sale, and this is his ottoman, I love the colours !

This table I made ! And I’m selling it at one of the stands at ALBERO, too. There are 9 colours, 75L each, and there’s a texture-change version too that costs 325L. The menu is slightly cumbersome to use, I’ll admit, but I’m hoping to replace it as soon as the texture-change script I got gets an upgrade. The tables are no-mod but I included three sizes. They’re kinda like stools in proportion. I had started to make those a couple of days ago and I kind of put them out on an impulse during the night and I didn’t even have time to think of a proper brand name. I didn’t want to be lame and sell them as “Lili’s tables”, though, so “North West” will do for now.
