Ole Times

So, I was just visiting Tatty Soup, where I had never been before, and camming out on their homestead I spotted this house and started snapping away. It’s really, really nicely decorated. The house and most of the furnishings are from POST by Van Auster, and everything else comes mostly from Kopi, Clutter, North West, iTuTu, LISP Bazaar, tram, Y’s House, nordari, Second Spaces, Picnic and Tatty Soup (love their rusty tub at the mainstore, by the way). Sorry for not listing exact credits of everything, but there’s quite a bit, plus you can teleport and check things out yourself anyway, at least as of this posting (of course there’s no knowing that this will all be there forever, BUT THAT’S LIFE). I guess also there’s not much point in blogging edited pictures of stuff; but I was looking to age or distress the pics a little bit and when I tried black and white, I just thought, this looks, woah… nice. Noir and just slightly moody. I wish the SL viewers had a feature to see everything in black and white with adjustable contrast, grain and sepia too.

Home & Garden Expo ’11

This will probably be the only post I make on the Home & Garden Expo and I’m focusing on the items that some of us vendors will be putting out, where the proceeds of the sales are going to Relay For Life, plus some new releases here and there. Oh, and it’ll open later today, at noon SLT.

Above, the adorable little retro coffee table is one of the two items from artilleri for RFL and the caravan is a new release ! It comes in at least six colours, I think. [expo slurl]

The Stuff Store

The Home & Garden Expo is around the corner, and with that, I wanted to make a little highlight on one excellent store I didn’t know before that specialises in retro furnishings: the Stuff Store. It doesn’t have too many items and it is fairly new, although once I had a moment to open the few packages I received, the name of the creator, Crias Rowlands, started to ring a bell to me, and indeed ! Once upon a time, years ago, as I was walking around the Wastelands I saw something I liked very much, so much I had to ask for it, even though the creator didn’t appear to have a store at the time (and that was Crias Rowlands, in case that wasn’t clear).

The daily routine

This high-quality skybox by Mattew Lacombe is currently free on the marketplace. It’s copyable and 90 prims for the skybox alone. There’s also rezzers included for two other versions where the skybox opens onto a tunnel road. So very well textured ! I don’t think I saw a single seam anywhere. If we could only see more like this on SL. But I know this is a whole lot of work. It’s also a pretty masculine space with all the bricks and woods. I decorated it sparingly to make it a bit more homey for the pictures. I generally liked the proportions and the wall recesses to cram personal touches in. It doesn’t feel cagey, and it even feels cozy after you have put a few things out. And I think I might have really loved this prefab to death, and paid good money too, if it could have been in a lighter colour theme (though I understand this is a one-off and not only was I lucky to snag it for free, but who knows how long this will even be around).

Baby, let’s play house

A little update on some of the new stuff I have been doing lately, at North West. The Gustav lamp I made a week or two ago; the hanging chalkboard changes textures, oh and also, more chairs, in more motifs than is shown here. These are actually just two lamps; if you touch the shade, it toggles between a plain or grunge version of the fabric. I made this set for Themeory Project this week-end; all is included for 75L, except the lamp that is from Kari and the rug from Sea Salt. They really complete the set ! There’s enough room left for you to add your own touch.

[mdrm]

Oops, I should probably be busy working on things of my own right now, but I had to take a moment to make a quick post about this store I just stumbled on today, [mdrm]. I don’t know how I’d never seen it before, but this furniture by naonao2 Ellils is super, super low-prim and also well-done. You rarely see stuff that low-prim and baked, too. Some items made me think of Rachel Breaker builds, only with a more real-life, vintage aesthetic and textured accordingly.

The whole chimney setup at the top is 10 prims, and was a recent group gift.

By the by

This is a post I quickly put together on an impulse following the release of this attic skybox from Reek just today for FLF (it might already be gone, at least at that price already). Fourty-four prims in all and modifiable, it’s going to be my new hideout for now !

Knives Out

I’ve had many bits & bobs accumulating for months now because I’ve not really felt like doing a big décor post lately. But, enough ! I’ll at least air some of it out now, throw it together in a jumble even for just a snap or two, because I wanted to show this really, really pretty gift just out at Kari, for Christmas. Oh, and I apologise in advance for anymore gifts that may no longer be available…
