Bringing out the good stuff in Second Life®: fashion, hot spots, freebies, etc.

Thora Charron, one of the brilliant designers at LeLutka, has made a really stunning avatar, Eve, as her contribution to this ongoing Rezzable fashion event entitled “The future is now“. It caught my eye straight away when I went sampling, and putting it on, it won me over. I wish there were more avatars of this quality, and with this finish, around the grid. Well, I bet there must be some, but I guess I may just not have crossed paths with enough of them yet. Anyway, I’m glad of this event if only because it has given the opportunity to a creator with Thora’s expertise and high standards to produce something remarkable outside of her field of predilection, for those ones in SL to whom fantasy, sci-fi and role-play appeal more than fashion.

I don’t know if Eve will still be available for retail after the event, but I hope it will be ! Also, the avatar includes a basic set of AOs with a walk and a stand, and a HUD to customise the appearance of the tail, if you choose to wear it.

I wanted to take a few quick snaps with a little bit of attitude, and used Chance Greatrex’s pose set called “WHITE”. They were perfect, thank you, Chance !

There has been a new addition to sick ! It looks to be about two months old and has some kind of hunt going on there. mk Curtis has a blog for his sims, and you can check it out for more info, that is, if you speak Japanese, or else pick up the notecard at the landing point ! I wish I had interesting things to say about these places, but I seriously can’t be bothered to do any research. Walking around and looking at things that look pretty seems to be enough to make me content. ❤

Xenius Revere just released Cy Haven, a pretty awesomely built prefab, sci-fi oriented, and I thought I’d show some other of his prefabs here as well. Most of them have matching sets of furniture which you can check out here.

Visit Cy Haven. Comes in two versions, one slightly less primmy than the other, but both are similar.

Visit Utopia Lane.

Visit the Toadstool Court demo. Its accompanying furniture set is really very cute, and comes with a super duper bed too, not shown here, and every piece is color-change. The house itself provides visitors with a wearable cam system that will dramatically enhance your experience with a couple of cinematic angles.

Visit the Canal st. skybox. Features changeable cityscapes and three wall types: stucco, brick and destroyed.

View the Bar set. It includes different variations of the bar and all is copiable.

Not for sale, but pretty cool. Here, you can see Xeniversity, where Xenius Revere teaches Maya. I ran into him today while taking my pictures and we struck up a chat, and that’s how I learnt about his lessons. You see a lot of lessons for everything being advertised in the SL Events, which I personally never really wanted to try, but this seems like the real deal. Given how I was blasted by his Cy Haven build and all of his sim, I would, in a heartbeat, pay to be taught by the same man that made all of that stuff. Anyway, more info about that here. And you can read some testimonials about the classes in the comments to this post that Hamlet Au wrote on NWN about Xeniversity a few weeks ago.

What can I say, other than Hydrogen City is a pretty awesome looking place, huh ? What with the chinese influences, it totally fucking won me over. Also, sorry for the overload of underground tunnel pictures, which may be a teeny bit overkill, but they just looked so good.
